Ian Echo and his new found friend Oddball stood outside a 1966 Airstream Trade Wind Land Yacht, which was hooked up to a black 1978 Ford F150 Ranger. Ian looked nervous, unsure what to expect, but he had noticed that his friend Oddball looked even more nervous than he did. He wonder, if Oddball even knew this man at all he had brought him to meet, or if he did, did he and this man have a bad history.
Ian Echo: Why so nervous?
Oddball: Nervous? Me nervous, I’m not nervous, do I look nervous?
Ian didn’t respond but instead nodded his head up and down. Oddball raised his fist inches from the door, pausing before he knocked.
Oddball: See, last time… Maggie, she hurt me, she made me bleed very badly. I’m only a little scared. Only a little.
A bead of sweat dropped from Oddballs's forehead.
Ian Echo: Maggie, is that his wife, girlfriend?
Oddball: Neither. She… well she is his, dog. Very scary dog.
If on Q, the sound of a growl came from behind. Both men froze stiff, as they slowly, not trying to make a sudden move turned around.
Radek Dayz and Maggie stood behind them with Radek Dayz hand firmly around the collar of Maggie. She was showing her visitors her nice sharp teeth; eyes glued to the both of them life they were a piece of steak. Oddball quickly positioned himself behind Ian Echo, holding him by the back of the Jacket. Ian held his hands up to signal he meant no harm.
Ian Echo: Hi -- You must be, Radek Dayz I assume.
Radek Dayz: What do you want?
Ian Echo: My friend here--
Radek Dayz: I warned you man, stay the hell away from me.
Oddball spoke still hiding behind Ian.
Oddball: I know, I know, but Radek… We have an amazing opportunity to present to you, and by amazing I mean, huge, and by huge I mean marvelous, and…
Radek Dayz: If you say another word, Maggie here is going to finish what she started last time. You remember don’t you?
Oddball: YES!
Ian Echo: Excuse me sir, may I speak.
Radek Dayz: Who are you?
Ian Echo: I’m Ian…
Oddball: IAN ECHO! Trev Echo’s kid.
The name of his former boss made Radek Dayz eyes go wide before they returned to their natural position.
Radek Dayz: So what? I don’t care who you are, but why, are you here?
Ian Echo: Your friend Oddball—
Radek Dayz: He ain’t my friend.
Ian Echo: Okay. This guy told me A; you are a wrestler and B; you are looking for work. I have come to offer you that. A job, if--
Ian tried to move closer to Radek as he pulled an envelope from his inside pocket but was having a difficult time with Oddball still hanging on.
Radek Dayz: Trying to fill your dead father’s dreams?
The dead father part rung in his ears, he didn’t know why.
Ian Echo: You can say that.
He finally managed to drag Oddball behind him, and hand the envelope over to Radek.
Ian Echo: Take a look. Think about it, and if you agree to the terms, come to Holston, Pennsylvania.
Radek snapped the envelope from Ian’s hands, as he pulled Maggie along as he went inside his trailer. Oddball finally released his hold on the back of Ian’s jacket.
Oddball: Well that went better than I thought… And, Rottweiler’s should not be pets, I think I may have pee a little. Only a little.
Ian Echo: Do you think he will sign and come.
Oddball turned and looked at Radek home.
Oddball: Definitely.
Ian Echo: So where to next.
Oddball: Seattle.
