INT. W-KRJ RADIO STATION - THURSDAY EVENING (FOLLOWING WRESTLETALK)
We open up inside of the a hallway outside of glass doors. Through the doors, we see the interior of a radio station. A flashing light flickers from inside, indicating "On Air." Through the doors, we see BUCKY REESE, Holston's talk show analyst, chatting it up with his guests.
Our focus at the moment, however, is on the young woman seated on the floor outside of those glass doors, her knees drawn in as if she is curled in a ball.
She is Wrestletown Director of Public Relations SAMANTHA PAVAK. She is distraught, shaking almost-- a combination of the news she had just received on air-- on air!-- and the botched job that she was responsible for as a result. Her eyes are fixed on that "On Air" sign through the glass doors.
The "On Air" light goes off. The doors to the radio booth open, and out comes a parade of DEAN WILLARD, BOBBY MCVEIGH, CLAYTON COBB, and IAN ECHO.
Dean looks pissed. Of course he looks pissed. He storms out and exits into the hallway, where he spots Samantha on the floor. He directs his attention at her.
DEAN WILLARD
What the fuck? What the actual
fuck was that in there?
fuck was that in there?
SAMANTHA PAVAK
I am sorry, I froze.
DEAN WILLARD
You froze? You froze? Listen here, sweetie,
this is not amateur hour, you got that?
this is not amateur hour, you got that?
BOBBY MCVEIGH
Dean, calm down.
DEAN WILLARD
I will not calm down, Bobby. I am trying to promote a
show to save a town-- save your town-- and I don't
have the time or patience for some sophomore drama
from a little girl who gets tongue-tied on the air
because her high school crush happens to be coming
home. And by the way, Bobby-- why the hell would
you spring that on her while in the middle of a radio show?

Bobby doesn't answer. It gets sillent for a moment.
IAN ECHO
Um, Mr. Willard?
DEAN WILLARD
What is it, Ian?
IAN ECHO
I didn't get the opportunity to talk
about my plans for the hard--
about my plans for the hard--
DEAN WILLARD
Not now, Ian. Please, run along, as I need
to tend to more important things-- like where
are we getting a fucking roster to fill an entire
show that is scheduled for a week and a half.

CLAYTON COBB
Dean, don't you worry about a thing, Clayton's on
top of this. Like I was saying, I made a couple calls,
talked to that hot little nombre from back in the day,
Priscilla Price, she connected me with Marty Sunshine,
and get this-- I don't know if you've been following the
bouncing ball in Kennewick over the last couple months,
but you will never believe who else Marty is managing?

CLAYTON COBB
Carter Hayes. Boom! Package deal, consider
it done. They will be signed, sealed and
ready to deliver on the thirtieth! And that
is how you get shit done, Cobb style!

Bobby and Sam look at one another, and then to Dean, who looks back at them with disappointment.
DEAN WILLARD
Bobby, I hope I did not make a mistake with you
at the helm. You're a leader-- lead. I need more
names. I need a roster. I need something that
the folks can sink their teeth into. Come up
up with something, Bobby--and do it soon.

Bobby has a seat on the floor next to Samantha.
BOBBY MCVEIGH
You alright, kid?
BOBBY MCVEIGH
I'm sorry I didn't tell you. Just so you know, I
couldn't talk him into staying. He has his heart
set on Rio. He'll be in and out-- one night--
and you won't have to see him again.

There is a pause
BOBBY MCVEIGH
Don't worry about all of that right now. Let's get
out of here. Go home and get some sleep.
Tomorrow, you and I, we've gotta take a road
trip and see about rounding up some wrestlers.
