INT. STEEL MILL AUDITORIUM - OFFICE OF BOBBY MCVEIGH - HOLSTON, PA - AFTERNOON
We open up inside of the office of newly appointed General Manager of Wrestletown, BOBBY MCVEIGH.
Bobby appears focused, a good thing since he appears up to his neck in paperwork. There is a knock at the door-- a welcomed distraction. Bobby looks up to find his longtime assistant and new Director of Public Relations SAMANTHA PAVAK peering in.

Bobby appears focused, a good thing since he appears up to his neck in paperwork. There is a knock at the door-- a welcomed distraction. Bobby looks up to find his longtime assistant and new Director of Public Relations SAMANTHA PAVAK peering in.
She looks like she has something on her mind. She enters the office.
Uh oh is right. Bobby knows what's coming. He puts his pen down to give Samantha his undivided attention.
Samantha has a seat opposite Bobby, and leans across the desk, seeking to engage.
Samantha pauses.
There's a pause.
Bobby catches himself before finishing the sentence.
Bobby takes a breath.
Samantha is speechless.

BOBBY
Uh oh. What's that look for?
SAMANTHA
I hear you're headed out to University Park.
BOBBY
It's just a talk, Sam.
SAMANTHA
Heard Bucky Reese talking about it all over
the radio. Says "Bobby McVeigh's heading to
Penn State to have a talk with C.J. Nucifora.

SAMANTHA
I heard both the Mayor and Rosey Burger get
on the radio and say if anyone can talk him
into coming back home, it's Bobby McVeigh.

BOBBY
I don't know what you want me to tell you,
Sam. It's just a talk. The powers that be
want me to go out there and speak to him.

SAMANTHA
He's got a shot at Rio.
BOBBY
I know that.
SAMANTHA
Rio, Bobby-- as in 2016 Olympics.
BOBBY
I know.
SAMANTHA
Right out of college, that's unheard of.
BOBBY
It sure is.
SAMANTHA
Then why even entice him into staying.
BOBBY
It's just a talk.
Samantha springs to her feet, pacing about.
SAMANTHA
Jesus, Bobby, you know it's more than just a talk.
You can talk anyone into anything-- particularly C.J.
Hell, you talked him into bumping up two weight classes
to take on Andy Springer his sophomore year--

BOBBY
He won, didn't he--
SAMANTHA
You're gonna talk him into coming home, aren't you?
There's a pause.
BOBBY
Look, it's not gonna be a hard sell, I assure you.
The moment he says no, I'm turning right around
and coming back home. But you've gotta know,
Sam, Dean Willard-- he wants C.J. as the face of
Wrestletown. He knows how much he means to
this town, and his name will fill the seats. And,
in fact, the only reason I'm going is because--

What?
BOBBY
Nothing.
SAMANTHA
No nothing. Finish what you were gonna say.
BOBBY
I'm only going to talk to C.J. because Willard
wanted you to go, so I stepped up in your place.

BOBBY
How long has it been since you've spoken to him?
SAMANTHA
About five years. Since the day he left Holston.
