He is the most dominant wrestler to come out of his school, and when that school is Holston, Pennsylvania, that means something. He is a hero within the town. In addition to being a gifted wrestler, he was an honor roll student, and homecoming king to the queen-- his high school sweetheart, Samantha Pavak. (The two would break up when C.J. left for college).
It's been five years C.J. left for college at Penn State University, where he would continue reside during the breaks. It has been five years since C.J. has returned to Holston. With his eyes set on Rio in 2016, the emergence of Wrestletown and the recruitment by some old, friendly faces has taken his life in a different direction.

Provide Brief Commentary Regarding Your Wrestler's Views on:
(1) Authority / Wrestletown Management: C.J. maintains the highest level of respect for Wrestletown General Manager Bobby McVeigh, who was his high school coach. As our story has opened, he has been convinced to forego his Olympic dreams to help jump start Wrestletown because the community's financial stability hinges upon the company's success.
(2) Other Wrestlers: Wrestling is a sport, a competition, and he treats all opponents with a level of respect commensurate with what he gets back from them. He is put off by the flashiness and showboating that comes with the professional aspect of the sport he loves.
(3) The Sport in General. C.J. is a purist at heart. He is not a fan of professional wrestling. He would prefer if pro wrestling was a real extension of the amateur sport he has lived his entire life, and resents the fact that what is considered "professional" involves kicks and punches and chair shots with no instant replay and climbing things and jumping off them. He believes his sport has been tarnished.
(4) The Fans in General; the Townies of Holston. He loves the fans, and loves the people of Holston, and is humbled by their support.
