Shawn Cage reclines upon the sofa that's situated inside the living room of the small and hardly livable hotel room that was previously occupied be a drug addict over in Holston, he stares for a moment at the message that he's just posted to the WrestleTown Website on their social networking site, and then lets out a slight sigh as takes a sip from the cup of Tim Horton's coffee that is situated on the coffee table in front of him. Tim Horton's may not be in the area, but he wasn't ready to give up that last piece of home that he brought with him. Maybe he'd give Java World a chance on a different day.
It's funny, but every time he went to sleep during the time he spent in the hell-hole known as Arc Ana, he would immediately begin to dream of walking into a Tim Horton's that was located close to his home, and ordering an Extra Large double-double; in much the same way that he always did when he was growing up near Montreal.
Yet, every time he would lift the coffee cup up so that he could take that first sip, the cup always vanished into thin air, along with the rest of his surroundings... And the only thing that remained in his mind was the taunting laughter of the person who was responsible for his incarceration in the first place. The person that drove him to sound a sound of madness.
So, he guesses that's why he acted so strangely on the day when he was first released from Arc Ana, and when his daughter Alexis was finally able to get the release granted, and then took her out for a cup of coffee. Shawn hesitated when Alexis handed him the cup, stared it it for a while as if expecting it to disappear, and began to shudder uncontrollably when he began to hear that same sinister laughter as he took his first sip. I think a part of him deep down inside expected that his own daughter could of poisoned it.
Shawn's gotten a lot better since then... Or, at the very least, he's no longer at the point where he expects every coffee that he buys to disappear before he can get a chance to drink it. But, he still hears laughter ringing through his mind every time he takes a sip, and that prevents him from truly enjoying the taste of the coffee as much as he should.

"I've gotta do something about this.."
Shawn thought to himself, but said it out loud without even realizing it as he takes another sip.
Shawn Cage
"And I've gotta do something about this very soon."
With that in mind, Shawn takes a deep breath, and fishes his cell phone out his jeans pocket, and punches in a number that someone was kind enough to leave for him just before he left Montreal and made the journey down to Holston.
All Shawn can hear in that moment is the sound of his heart threatening to beat its way out of his chest, and then feel his blood begin to freeze in its veins when he hears a cool, almost cruel sounding voice pick up at the other end of the line...
Unknown Number
"...."
Shawn's throat tightens to the point of constriction for a moment, but with supreme effort he manages to force a few words out of his mouth...
Shawn Cage
" Hello...It's...It's...Shawn. Shawn Cage..."
For a moment, Shawn hears nothing but silence at the other end, and he begins to wonder if the person on the other end of the line will bother to say anything in response to this greeting. In fact, he's just about give up and hang up the phone when the man he knew speaks once more.
Unknown Number
"Ah yes. I had heard about your release from Arc Ana. I suppose that congratulations are in order... I trust that you're now cured of whatever afflicted you in the past, then?"
Shawn Cage
"Yeah, you could say that, I guess... Anyways... I thought that we should get together and talk about what happened. I think that a conversation about that topic might do both of us a world of good..."
Unknown Number
"One never knows, Mr. Cage. Well, I'll give your request the consideration that I think it deserves, although I think that for now you have other matters that demand your attention. After all, you are a new man, are you not?"
Shawn feels his jaw tighten for a moment as he gives his answer.
Shawn Cage
"You know very well that I am the same man that I have always been . That's why you enlisted my services in the first place, wasn't it? You forced me into these debts, and you are the one keeping them on me. I could never gamble and win enough to pay back the amount you claim I owe."
The man punctuates this remark with that derisive chuckle that serves as his trademark, but to Shawn's immense surprise, he no longer feels any sense of anxiety as he responds to this remark.
Unknown Number
"Things are different this time, Shawn... And who is to say we are tired of waiting to collect?"
Shawn Cage
"Still... I am not finished.. I just need a little bit more time.. "
Once again, The person on the other side of the line doesn't immediately respond, and Shawn hears annoyance creep into his voice as he breaks the silence.
Shawn Cage
"We are going to have this conversation."
Unknown Number
"...."
Shawn Cage
" Do you understand? We are-..."
Shawn doesn't get the chance to repeat this statement, because the person on the line has disconnected the call, and all he hears now is the ring tone buzzing in his ear.
Shaking his head, Shawn puts down the phone and takes another sip of his coffee, and then breaks out into a wide smile when he realizes that the familiar laughter that accompanied every sip no longer makes itself heard.
Shawn Cage
"Not bad"
Shawn thinks out loudly again as he takes another sip and assesses its true taste for the very first time ...
Shawn Cage
"Not bad at all."
And indeed, the coffee does taste pretty damned good.
In fact, it might almost be as good as the taste of victory that he'll experience in the coming week...
And Shawn sure as hell is going to enjoy that taste.
In fact, he knows that he's going savor every last drop. But first he has a few loose ends to tie up. He slipped on his jacket and made his ways out into the streets of Holston looking to see what type of trouble he could find himself in.
