This thread is spurred by two things:
(1) One of the goals with Wrestletown has always been to use the in character "community" platform to tighten the ooc community feel. What this means is that we ultimately want this place to become run like a community as much as possible-- so that it becomes everyone's fed.
(2) Right now, the biggest problem I am having is executing all of the ideas we have in place, between the Newspaper, the radio program, running all of the townie characters, in character executive committee, and some of the wrestlers. Work has kicked my ass this week, and I was very excited to see this place remain active even when I haven't been able to (and Trevor has been an absolute madman, between the graphics, as well as handling so many different characters)>
I am interested in getting feedback on a few possible ideas to help Trevor and I out, while also adding the community feel. Again, these are just brainstorming ideas, and we welcome any additional ideas, in addition to feedback on these ideas.
1. How would everyone feel if we were able to open it up so that everyone had access to the townies, and could therefore post with the townies?
There would be a few exceptions--ie., the executive committee of Bobby McVeigh, Dean Willard, Clayton Cobb, Ian Echo, and Samantha Pavak would continue to be handled exclusively by Trevor and I. However the rest of the existing management-created townies, as well as any future townies we create, you would be able to access and post on their behalf, to advance stories in directions would would like to see them advances.
Nobody would have exclusive control over any of these townies (although handlers would continue to have exclusive control over any townies they create). Anyone would be able to post from Caspar Reed, or Pastor Matt, or Bucky Reese, etc.
There's have to be some rules that would call for common sense application (ie., no killing or njuring townies, no tarnishing their image, etc.).
So my question is, do you see this as a good thing, a bad thing, or an indifferent thing?
2. Aftermatch Assignments.
I apologize for the lack of assignments. This week has been kicking my ass at work. I do want to get this going soon, and I hope to be able to revisit this this weekend. But again, I wanted to open up the floor to anyone being able to post suggested aftermatch assignments for other handlers. They aren't mandatory, so if another handler posts an assignment for you and you're not interested, you can pass. The whole purpose of them is to serve as srpingboards for story ideas and roleplays.
If you would be interested in seeing another handler's character placed in a certain situation and would like to see them play it out by way of a roleplay, you should be able to make an aftermatch assignment request for another handler's character. I see this as a good thing because it shows other handlers that you are actively paying attention to their characters and their stories.
3. Radio Interviews. Again, this is something that I would like to open up as a community thing. If anyone has time, and can assist with doing interviews of other handlers' characters, I'd like to make Bucky Reese (the host of the radio show) accessible to everyone.
Also, I'm going to designate a specific time, perhaps one or twice a week, when the CHAT BOX will be used strictly in character for a sort of call in show. Not everyone has to participate because everyone's schedule is different; but if you happen to be around when it takes place, feel free to chime in as callers with questions or comments.
Thanks everyone. It's cool to see the level of activity on the social timelines. I open up the discussion to you.
