Kolin Duffy looked over the Lollipop Lounge, no music, lights turned up, Tracy behind the bar cleaning. It was another night of work finished, with luckily very few problems. Only had to grab one customers hand and threaten to break it, not even any kick outs. He made his rounds, double checking everything. He gave the new dressing room guard a nod, and was satisfied with his work.
"Everything's good Tracy, see you tomorrow night."
"Bye sweetie."
Kolin headed out, got in his car and made the drive back to the small apartment he'd found. Even though the lounge was on the outskirts of town, it wasn't that long of a drive. Holston wasn't exactly a big city, and at almost three in the morning all the lights were just flashing yellow. He made it back right as his clock hit three, pulled into the parking spot in front of his building, and quickly made his way up the stairs to his apartment. He went to put his keys in, but stopped when he noticed a light coming from under the door. He held his ear up to the door and heard faint voices. He took a step back, Reached into his waistband and pulled his Glock G26 9mm. He grabbed the door handle and turned it slowly, already open. He shoved the door open, went in and pointed the gun straight at the man sitting in his chair watching the TV.
"HOLY FUCKING SHIT BALLS!"
Kolin looked down the barrell, and slowly lowered it as he recognized the man in front of him.
"Cathal."
"Good to see you again, you crazy motherfucker."
"Póg mo thóin!"
Kolin put his gun back in it's holster, and crossed over to his chair, He grabbed the remote, flipped the TV on, and turned back to Cathal.
"If you're here about your bitch boy, he had it coming. Sent two goons at me, and tried to tell me that your grandfathers word wasn't good anymore."
"Frankie got some things wrong, all right."
Cathal looked at him with arrogance plastered across his face before he pulled a small bag from his pocket, dipped his pinky in and pulled out the white substance. He gave a quick snort, and looked at Kolin, who just shook his head.
"You can go Cathal, we have nothing to discuss."
"That's where you're wrong. Frankie got most of the shit fucked. I don't want you back full time, just one simple job. There's a guy who owes me a damn good bit of money, and he ran off. Found him just a little bit outside of this shithole, next town over in fact. I need you to go get him and convince him to come back and pay."
"Why should I?"
"Because I'll pay you well for it. Looks like you could use some cash. Plus, I know it's been awhile since you've had some pussy, what with prison and everything. I'll send you over one of my favorite girls, on the house."
"How much?"
"Five grand."
Kolin looks at Cathal for a second, then turns away, walks to his kitchen, opens the fridge and pulls out a beer. He opens it, walks back in and takes a sip as Cathal wits for an answer.
"Fine, all of it up front, with his name and where I can find him. No hooker though, not my deal."
"All right. Money and info will be in your mail tomorrow."
Kolin nodded and Cathal headed out, but stopped when he got to the door.
"You sure about the girl? I can promise you, you'll love her. Pretty sure you've even met her before."
Cathal laughs before closing the door, leaving Kolin to drink his beer and wonder what that last part meant.
