The Varsity Club Training Facility, located in the heart of Main Street, is a state of the art gym that, quite ironically, is the product of perhaps Holston's number one nemesis.
In 2002, COLTON WOODS was a beast of a senior at Sunshine Springs-- the rival school to Holston Regional-- and while the Huskies would dominate Sunshine Springs every year overall, Colton would give whoever was wrestling heavyweight for the Huskies absolute fits. Colton would go on to be a four-time Pennsylvania State Champion for Sunshine Springs, and a perpetual thorn in the side to all all the fans in Holston.
Following high school, while many of his peers would go on to wrestle for top colleges, Colton elected to throw himself into the professional ranks, and did quite well for himself, amassing a record of 9-1-- his only loss coming to former Second City Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Damian Cole when the two fought in the now defunct Greater Metropolitan Wrestling. Unfortunately, Colton Woods would cut his career short following a nagging knee injury.
Following retirement in 2012, Woods returned to Pennsylvania and set up The Varsity Club Training Facility-- which serves as the number one gym for wrestlers throughout the county. In addition to being the workout facility for amateur wrestlers, there are two regulation size wrestling rings in the gym.
If you need a place to train, whether its hitting the weights, the machines, or the bags or the ring, this is the place to be.
